Jonah Hex Set for Big Screen
The film is being developed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who wrote and directed the Jason Statham vehicle Crank (the one that combined D.O.A. and Speed). The only caveat about the project as announced? Instead of going with the Deadwood-ized version of Hex that Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray have been writing for DC Comics for the last two years, Warner Bros. is reaching back to the supernatural storylines developed for the character in the mid-1990s by Joe R. Lansdale and Tim Truman. Not that those aren't great stories; I'm just somewhat wary of how they'll be handled once they're out of Lansdale's hands. At least they're not doing the ones where scientists from the future brought him to their nuclear-ravaged world so he can go all Mad Max. Yep, he's had an interesting life. Email This Post |
