Da Vinci Code to Open Cannes

When the Cannes Film Festival opens for business in mid-May, The Da Vinci Code will be the opening-night attraction. Apparently, there had been some talk about debuting the film at the Louvre, the setting for the novel’s gruesome first scene and quite a few subsequent exposition-cramming conversations, but Cannes it is…although the film will not be entered into festival competition.
