David Rosenthal to Head New Penguin Imprint
David Rosenthal will lead a new imprint at Penguin. In June, Jonathan Karp replaced Rosenthal as the publisher at the Simon & Schuster trade imprint.
The New York Times had the scoop. The unnamed imprint will publish between 24 and 36 books a year.
Rosenthal had this quote: “I’m going to make lots of trouble … They’re going to let me go after the kind of — I wouldn’t say quirky — but the peculiar stuff that I sometimes like. What they want very much is for me to be able to indulge my passions, indulge my taste.”
