Digital Book Formatting for Dummies

It’s a brave new digital world, but most writers don’t have the technical know-how to format their books for all the new e-readign devices.

In this video interview from the eBook Summit, we caught up with consultant Joshua Tallent from eBook Architects–decoding the eBook translation process. He gave a short survey of the different eBook formats, mapping out the formatting challenges presented by everything from the Nook to iPhone e-readers.

For more detailed instructions, the digital self-publishing company Smashwords released a free style guide that helps self-publishers format for a variety of e-book readers, including Kindle, Epub, and PDF.
