A quick update on yesterday’s item about the possibility that the New York Department of Tax & Finance might attempt collecting sales tax from online vendors: Yesterday afternoon, Governor Eliot Spitzer told the department to back off, because “now is not the right time to be increasing sales taxes on New Yorkers.”
