UnBeige, mediabistro.com’s design blog, gets the inside scoop on the Rock On cover art, and how author Dan Kennedy got the Algonquin Books design team to incorporate his favorite Gary Baseman figurine, from his original proposal to the final version, after “the real artists and designers brought it up about 25 levels.” Kennedy, who’s reading tonight at the SoHo Apple Store, finds the choice particularly apt, as “‘tiny dunce sitting wide-eyed in the dark but not without his fangs’ completely sums up the narrative voice of this book.”
