Exclusive Video: Foundry Agent on the Publishing Meltdown
As a number of major publishing houses made dramatic lay-offs last week, literary agents around the city pondered what the disaster meant for their clients.
Peter H. McGuigan, founding partner at Foundry Literary + Media, had books pending at a few of the houses that suffered cuts. In this video interview, he told GalleyCat how his firm is dealing with the new landscape.
Since he opened Foundry a year-and-a-half ago, McGuigan has made headlines for the bestseller Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World, and built an impressive client list that includes Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. According to McGuigan, the agency will add another member in January.
