Last night, Matthew Eck, Keith Gessen, Sana Krasikov, Nam Le, and Fiona Maazel were honored at the National Book Award’s annual “5 Under 35” ceremony.

Before the ceremony, GalleyCat caught up with two promising young novelists–Matthew Eck (one of the evening’s honorees and author of The Farther Shore) and Joshua Ferris (2007 NBA nominee and author of Then We Came to the End). Their exclusive video interview discussed war, serial killers, upcoming work, and comedy.
