George R.R. Martin Hopes For a Future ‘Game of Thrones’ Movie

georgerrmartinCould Game of Thrones be seen on the big screen one day? George R.R. Martin has high hopes to end this adaptation after seven or eight seasons on HBO with a movie.

According to Screen Daily, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire series revealed this idea during an appearance at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival. Some speculate that all the work that goes into producing a movie would allow Martin more time to write the sixth and seventh installments of his beloved book series. Others feel that whatever ending Martin intends to pen requires a full movie to capture.

Here’s more from MTV.com: “As Ned Stark so famously warned, winter is coming; we know the White Walkers exist in numbers beyond the Wall, and we know Dany’s dragons are only getting bigger and bigger. It’s only a matter of time before all these forces come to a head, and perhaps a feature film is the only way to do justice to the massive ideas percolating in Martin’s mind.”
