HarperCollins’ Jeanette Perez Now Full Editor
I got word late yesterday afternoon from HarperCollins that Jeanette Perez (left), who had been working as an assistant editor for both Alison Callahan and David Roth-Ey, has been given full editorial status and will now be acquiring and editing her own titles at HarperPerennial and Harper Paperback. “I’m so excited,” she said when I called to congratulate her on the promotion. “I’m looking forward to the extra time to work with authors and find new projects, especially in narrative non-fiction and pop culture.” That’ll go well with her established track record picking up fiction since joining Harper in 2004; in addition to scooping up the U.S. rights to the British bestseller The Island, she’s also acquired novels like Promise Not to Tell and Polly. ”
