HarperCollins teams up with DreamWorks

The Bookseller reports that HarperCollins UK and HarperEntertainment are joining forces with Dreamworks Animation SKG, signing a multi-territory licensing deal for six upcoming films – including Shrek 3, Bee Movie, the sequel to Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda.

The deal will see HC publishing movie tie-ins including novelisations, readers, storybooks and board books. The agreement also includes activity books in the UK. Sally Gritten, managing director of HarperCollins Children’s Books UK said: “We’re so proud to be publishing the books of such a world renowned animation studio; two creative companies bringing great stories to children everywhere.”
