How To Write 500 Words Every Day & Ponder Your Mortality at the Same Time

We just discovered the Everyday iPhone app–a program that reminds you to take one picture of yourself (or, in this editor’s case, your baby) every day. In few weeks, the app will combine the daily photos into a time-lapse video montage.

We’ve embedded a video demonstration above, but Everyday could also be a powerful writing tool. When the automated app reminds you to take a photo every day, you could write 500-words after taking the picture–writers need all the help they can get to remind themselves to write every day.

As you collect more and more photos of yourself as you age, you will also build up an impressionistic collection of writings.  You can ponder your own mortality your iPhone, but your writing will only get better and better.
