Idris Elba Hints at Luke Cage Comic Book Adaptation

In an interview with Total Film, The Wire star Idris Elba hinted that he could play the comic book superhero Luke Cage as part of his movie deal with Marvel Comics.

Check it out: “‘I wouldn’t mind having a crack at bringing Blade back, personally’ He says with a wry smile, echoed with a laugh from his manager. ‘But erm, there’s a couple of things there that they have… Luke Cage is… very interesting.’”

Elba earned legions of fans (and countless YouTube videos) for his portrayal of bookish gangster Stringer Bell in HBO’s The Wire. In the video embedded above, Elba explained why he canceled his Twitter account. (Via io9)
