Introducing GalleyCat Reviews

galleycat_reviews23.jpg

2009 was a rough year for the book review: major outlets for literary criticism floundered and newspaper coverage diminished. In the New Year, we will launch a brand new feature to help fill this gap in literary coverage: GalleyCat Reviews.

We have contacted a mix of professional reviewers and passionate readers, building a new feature with the help of our readership. Our first reviews will be launched later this month, but the program will grow over the next year. Our readers responded in an inspiring series of comments and emails, and we are currently processing all the responses.

In addition, we would like to build a directory of online outlets for book reviews, sharing this valuable information with our readers. As traditional review outlets disappear, online communities may be one of the last places where readers can go to find out about new books. If you would like to be included on that book review directory or participate in GalleyCat Reviews, email us today. We will respond to everyone, but we are still sifting through the initial submissions.
