It’s Been a Da Vinci Code Day…

One more bit of DVC news, if you can stand it: Reuter’s Paul Majendie reports that Dan Brown’s readers will believe anything. The ones in England, at any rate, are “now twice as likely to believe Jesus Christ fathered children after reading the Dan Brown blockbuster and four times as likely to think the conservative Catholic group Opus Dei is a murderous sect.” Now we see why Baigent & Leigh got so upset; after all, how many people did they ever manage to convince with Holy Blood, Holy Grail? Not only that, the novel has spread as pervasively through England as it has in the U.S.—the same 1-in-5-adults rate that Sarah mentioned this morning.
