After studying a SEC filing for former HarperCollins publisher Jane Friedman‘s digital book publishing venture, paidContent reports that the industry veteran has raised $3 million in start-up funds for the project.
Friedman founded OpenRoad Integrated Media, joined by film producer Jeff Sharp and former HarperCollins executive Chris Lederer in her new venture. While the company’s plan is still under wraps, Friedman spoke about publishing with Larry Kirshbaum in a candid web video interview with Samantha Ettus. Also, GalleyCat senior editor Ron Hogan co-wrote a long profile of the publisher.
