John Freeman Honored at Granta Party

1229003767326.jpegDespite recent gloomy publishing news, there are still memorable literary parties in New York. On Wednesday, Granta celebrated the arrival of new American editor, John Freeman. mediabistro.com’s own Glynnis MacNicol attended the event at the SoHo House’s library.

The FishbowlNY editor spotted a number of literary lights at the party, including: agent Nicole Aragi, publicist and essayist Sloane Crosley, Slate‘s Meghan O’Rourke, Publishers Weekly Sara Nelson, and Riverhead’s Sean McDonald, and author Nathan Englander.

Salman Rushdie was overheard talking about how moved he was by the Man on Wire documentary. Guests also received a tote bag with two copies of Granta and a Moleskine notebook.
