Kobo eReader Stars in ‘The Office’

On NBC’s The Office, TV comedy character Daryl Philbin (played by Craig Robinson) resolved to read more books this year. Perhaps as a result, last night’s episode (embedded above)  featured Kobo’s eReader.

When Daryl’s co-workers vowed to “meet loose women,” Daryl suggested they hunt at the bookstore. There, a bookstore clerk introduced Daryl to the Kobo eReader. He reacted: “Woah, I work at a paper company. Those things terrify me.” By the end of the episode, Daryl reads on the Kobo.

The eReader company has launched a contest inspired by the episode. Daryl also suggested his friends use the bookstore pick-up line: “Hey, what book is that? Cool, let’s hang out tonight.” What do you think about his literary pick-up technique?
