LA Times Books Section Staffers Leaving

latimeslogo.jpgAmid layoffs and buyouts at the LA Times, two Books Section staffers have left the paper.

Here’s more from LA Observed: “[Assistant book editor Orli Low's] exit, and that of longtime book section writer Susan Salter Reynolds, appears to leave only editor David Ulin and deputy Nick Owchar in what used to be the Book Review pod, plus Jacket Copy blogger Carolyn Kellogg.”

December has been a difficult month for book coverage. Earlier this month, Kirkus Reviews and Editor & Publisher were abruptly shuttered–the book review delivered 5,000 book reviews every year. However, the Jan. 1, 2010 issue of Kirkus Reviews will be published, as we reported last week.
