Marilyn Monroe Writings to be Published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux
In October, Farrar, Straus and Giroux will publish Fragments, a collection of writings by the late, great Marilyn Monroe. The collection will include poems, letters, photos, and other writings.
Anna Strasberg–who handles the Marilyn Monroe estate–brought some “never-before-seen writings” to family friend Stanley Buchthal and Editions du Seuil editor Bernard Comment. The pair served as editors on the collection. The Monroe bookshelf is growing this year. In September, the Hachette imprint Grand Central Publishing will release J. Randy Taraborrelli‘s The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (pictured).
Here’s more from the release: “[It is] a work unique on the shelf of books about Marilyn Monroe: a collection of her own writings that reveals a very different side to a great star. Fragments will also contain a small collection of rarely seen photographs as well as reproductions of selected documents-mostly handwritten in Monroe’s own hand, some of them typed.”
