Never a Name to Go Down to FameCompared With That of Toad
Gawker has the story on the guy suing Warren St. John over the cover of Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer, which features a photograph of the green Dodge RV Ron St. John (no relation) drives around following the Alabama football team. Apparently, according to the complaint filed in a federal district court last week, “since the release of said paperback edition using the image of his RV on the cover, [Ron St. John] avers that he has been overwhelmed with curiosity by Crimson Tide Fans inquiring if his RV is ‘The Hawg’ as they read about in Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer.” Which really ticks him off, because he calls his RV “The Toad,” and it’s not anything like the RV Warren St. John rode around in. You can see how that would cause a man so much emotional distress “no reasonable person could be expected to endure it.” But he should count his blessings: At least people aren’t coming up to him at tailgaters and asking how he could’ve missed the fact that “JT LeRoy” was a chick.
UPDATE: Gawker follows up, discovering that Ron used to be not so perturbed about having his RV on the cover of Warren’s book, and even bragged about it on his website.
