The New York chapter of the Romance Writers of America‘s annual “Golden Apple Awards” is still nearly two months away, but one of the honorees has already been announced: Deidre Knight of The Knight Agency has been named Agent of the Year. Over the 12-year course of her agenting career, Knight has sold more than 1,000 books to major publishers, including books in all major contemporary romance categories. (Three years ago, mediabistro.com profiled Knight’s agency, citing the company’s interest in discovering unique voices in a variety of genres.) And she’s a paranormal romance author in her own right, with one series under her belt and a new one (featuring “a new breed of passionate and immortal Spartan warriors”) launching this fall.
