Next Chapter Bookshop Has Closed

After three years of selling books in Wisconsin, Next Chapter Bookshop has closed. Here is the message that owner Lanora Hurley posted on the bookstore’s website:

Next Chapter Bookshop is now permanently closed. Some of our upcoming in-store author events may be rescheduled to occur at: Books & Company, [and] Boswell Books. Offsite partnership events occurring at Sanford Restaurant, Bacchus Restaurant and The Riverside Theater will take place as scheduled as of this message. Contact those venues directly for more information. Thank you to all of our loyal customers for your support. Thank you to our friends in publishing for allowing us to bring the most unique and entertaining voices to others. Thank you to authors near and far, whose visits and kind words will always be remembered. Every story has an ending.

According to Publishers Weekly, the owner also stepped down as Midwest Independent Booksellers Association president. The bookseller “declined to comment” about the news. (Image via Google)
