Our boss wasn’t herself, and others respond

When we ran an editorial from MB cyberhostess Laurel Touby which gave her take on the late, not-so-lamented CopyKaavya scandal, Citizen Culture’s Jonathan Feit took some issue with the piece – specifically, her throwaway comment about ‘cursing like she had Tourette’s.’ While Feit (diagnosed with the disease) wasn’t offended, he figured on using his soapbox for good – or at least for education. “A profound onus lies on editors, publishers, and journalists of all persuasions to harness our unique power to educate whenever reality bites,” he said. “It’s time to let Tourettics in on the joke; start laughing with us, and no longer at us.
