mediabistro.com founder Laurel Touby is speaking at the National Writers’ Workshop Conference this weekend, along with literary agent Jane Dystel, Scribner editor Colin Harrison, and authors like Jonathon King and Barbara Parker, and Les Standiford, among many others. There’s just one problem: Touby will be talking about “Best Practices in Freelancing,” but she admits that she hasn’t really freelanced since the days when email in the media workplace was still a novelty.
