Paris Review Launches Daily Blog

192_192.jpgLorin Stein made his first big move as the new editor of The Paris Review today by launching a daily blog for the venerable quarterly.

Stein explains the reasoning in the blog’s kick-off post: “We have been looking for a way to keep in touch with our readers between issues, and to call attention to our favorite writers and artists in something close to real time. If the Review embodies a sensibility, this Daily will try, in a casual and haphazard and at times possibly frivolous way, to put that sensibility into words.”

Stein, a former senior editor at Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, is making good on one of the comments he made when his new job was first announced– that he wanted to “engage better with the web.” As book bloggers and avid book blog readers, we obviously think this is a great idea. We’re looking forward to seeing what the Review can do with the new medium.
