It's been nearly a year since I interviewed Mary South about her memoir, The Cure for Anything Is Salt Water, and as I discovered at a party for the paperback edition of the book held in Keith Langham's Upper East Side showroom last week, she's been riding several waves of positive change. After supporting herself as a freelance journalist for a while, South has now become a senior editor at Yachting magazine—and, I was reminded, the film rights to the story of buying a 30-ton trawler and taking it home up the Atlantic seaboard were scooped up as part of the HarperCollins/Sharp Entertainment alliance.
