Project Gutenberg Books Make Up 31% of iPad iBooks Library

oreillychart.jpgIn a fascinating post, O’Reilly Media analyst Ben Lorica has mapped the different publishers selling books through the iBooks app on the Apple iPad. Click here to see the results.

Interestingly enough, 31.4 percent of all the books came from the public domain library, Project Gutenberg. In contrast, Penguin Group US books composed 16 percent of the titles. Another chart revealed that 54 percent of the iBooks are fiction.
