That's it for me, folks. It was a fun week guest-blogging here, but now that Labor Day Weekend is upon us, I have sorrows to drown while most of the publishing and writing people I know drink up over here.

But I leave you with this sign of how well and truly I've crossed over to the dark side. I just finished a galley of a crime novel that will be out in a few months' time. These were my thoughts, in order:

1. The author really needs to find a new publishing house that will do right by this book.

2. The editor of said book really ought to move over to a new publishing house because she's ill-served by her place of employment.

3. Everyone should read this book.
