OJ Book Deal: A Tale of Two StatementsJudith Regan has "explained it all" by releasing the entirety of a 2,200 word statement to Matt Drudge. It's really quite a bizarre read, ranging from wanting to get back at her ex, make her children proud, confess her own sins, and oh yeah, get OJ to confess or something. "For the girl who was left in the gutter, I wanted to make it right." In other words, somehow this has become all about Judith Regan and less about, oh, everyone else whose relevance to the story is far, far greater... Meanwhile, Esta Soler, President, of the Family Violence Prevention Fund has released a statement of her own calling for a boycott of the TV special and book. "Disgust and revulsion are the only possible reactions to the news that the Fox Network is planning a special in which O.J. Simpson will talk about how he would have murdered his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman, 'if he did it.' Two families suffered an unimaginable loss 12 years ago, and two children lost their mother. Now those children will see their father discuss or recreate the crime for entertainment and profit. It is beneath contempt. We urge Fox to reconsider its decision to air this program. Affiliates should refuse to carry it, if the network proceeds with its plans. Advertisers should refuse to support it. Viewers should refuse to watch. And no responsible person should purchase the book on which it is based." Email This Post |
