Random House Canada launches new websites

There’s a strong whiff of “old news” about this particular announcement, but it’s still worth noting this press release issued yesterday about Random House Canada partnering with Delvinia Interactive to launch five new customer-centric websites that provide exclusive access to enhanced content about their books and authors, including video and audio podcasts and blogging features. As well as redesigning their current websites for Random House and McLelland & Stewart, RHC is also adding a site for book clubs, one for crime fiction and a Book Lounge, where readers will have access to author interviews, podcasts and other enhanced content.

“Today’s book readers are increasingly turning to the Internet to research and choose the book they’ll read next,” says Lisa Charters, Vice President, Director Online Sales & Marketing, Random House of Canada. “With the phenomenal amount of choice in today’s book marketplace, we have designed a digital experience that provides interesting information on books and authors to help consumers make purchasing decisions before entering a conventional or online store.”
