Kathy Daneman, who joined Soho Press as Publicity Director in the summer of 2005, is leaving the publishing house effective October 25, when she'll be working at Farrar, Straus & Giroux as publicity manager. Taking Daneman's place as Soho's Publicity Director is Colleen Lindsay, who has worked as an independent publicist and assistant director of publicity at Ballantine Books. "She obviously has a passion for niche books and I think her experience at Del Rey will be invaluable," Daneman said by email last night.

Lindsay, when reached for comment, said that she especially looks forward to "adding unconventional publicity to Soho's campaigns" including utilizing blogs & podcasts to that end. She's also pleased about the chance to work on sub-rights for Soho titles.

That's the official spiel - but since Daneman and Lindsay are both good Friends of GalleyCat, we couldn't be more pleased for each of them.
