Rivka Galchen on the Death of Publishing

Prowling the floor of the star-studded New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Awards this week, GalleyCat caught up with Rivka Galchen, one of five nominees for the $10,000 prize.

In this video interview, Galchen discussed her next book, the publishing recession, and ghosts. She was nominated for the award for her novel, Atmospheric Disturbances. GalleyCat also interviewed Young Lions Award winner Salvatore Scibona.

The awards were hosted by actor Ethan Hawke. During the proceedings, actors Zoe Kazan and Billy Crudup joined him on stage to read excerpts from books by the finalists.
