Romance Writers Talk Trash

Get pumped up for the RWA 2008 RITA Awards by watching this trailer of trash talking finalists for the best contemporary single romance title including: Jennifer Greene, Kristan Higgins, Susan Anderson, Diana Holquist, Leslie Kelly, Rachel Gibson, Toni Blake and Sarah Strohmeyer.

According to Holquist, trash talking in the RWA has a long history beginning with Susan Elizabeth Philips and Nora Roberts.

My favorite moment comes around 2:55 when Rachel Gibson’s Publicist speaks on her behalf. Truly hilarious. However according to Avon Books Director of Publicity Pamela Spengler-Jaffee “I can tell you it’s NOT Aurora Hughes, who’s been working with Rachel here!”

Who is the mystery publicist? Well I went back through and paid attention to the credits this time and discovered it’s none other than Lindsey Faber, who will be at the RWA conference in August doing a panel with Diana Holquist (both of whom produced the above trailer) on “The Down and Dirty Guide to Making Your Own Book Trailer Videos.”
