Osama Bin Laden Hunt Retold in Graphic Novel

Simon & Schuster’s Gallery Books partnered with indie comics publisher Bluewater Productions to create a graphic novel entitled Killing Geronimo: The Hunt for Osama Bin Laden.

The book focuses on the Navy SEAL Team Six mission that killed Osama Bin Laden. The book has been released today. Artist James Boulton illustrated. Writers Jerome Maida and Darren G. Davis collaborated wrote the story.

Maida had this statement in the release: “This is an epic story nearly ten years in the making. It’s like a true-to-life Jason Bourne novel. And like those Ludlum books, it’s a complex labyrinth of intrigue, danger and politics culminating in an action-packed ending.” (Via CNN)

Steve Jobs Stars in Another Comic Book

Bluewater Productions has released a new comic book biography called Steve Jobs: Founder of Apple. The 32-page comic features cover art by Joe Phillips, pencils by Chris Schmidt and a script by C.W. Cooke.

According to Bluewater, the comic was inspired by success of a successful comic profiling Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg. Bluewater also has a comic book biography of Microsoft mogul Bill Gates slated for release in March. The title, Bill Gates: Co-Founder of Microsoft, was written by Martin Pierro and illustrated by Zach Bassett.

The Bluewater comic writing was completed prior to Steve Jobsdeath in October. Jobs now stars in Amazon’s most popular 2011 holiday book and two comic books. As we previously reported, Forbes published a 60-page graphic novel called The Zen of Steve Jobs.

Black History Month Books

As February comes to an end, people who have already read The Autobiography of Malcolm X and My Bondage and My Freedom might need more book suggestions for Black History Month. Bluewater Productions has released a comic collection called Black History: Leaders to celebrate.

Here’s more from the press release: “The 96-page anthology includes the unabridged issues featuring Barack Obama, Colin Powell, Oprah Winfrey, and Condoleezza Rice. These biographies were previously published as individual issues of Bluewater’s biographical comic titles Female Force and Political Power.”

Britney Spears Stars in Comic Book Biography

Britney Spears will star in her very own biographical comic book. Bluewater Productions will release Fame: Britney Spears in March.

The 32-page issue will explore everything from Spears’ Disney days to her more recent tabloid exploits. Patrick McCray wrote the script and Ricardo Jaime penciled the book.

In the release, publisher Darren G. Davis described the comic: “She was created in the Internet Age to be put on a pedestal, but no one can stand the glaring lights of celebrity that intensely. The title seeks to find the person within.”
