The stock market had just plunged 400 points and writers gathered for the awards a few blocks from the New York Stock Exchange.

Enhanced eBooks are coming to a chick lit book near you. Today eBookNewser reported that the newest Sex and the City tome by Candace Bushnell has a brand new enhanced edition prequel to the Sex in the City Series.

According to WWD, the LA-based jewelry company Dogeared will design the fashion line. Readers and viewers can buy the merchandise at Fred Segal and ABC Home, and prices will range between “$20 to more than $100.” In addition, the company will provide similar merchandise for Sex in the City 2, a sequel to a movie based on a television show based on a book by Candace Bushnell.

It’s been a rough year for the glamorous world Candace Bushnell explored in Sex and the City: the stock market crashed, layoffs rocked New York City media world, and the recession crippled the luxury business.

Nevertheless, Bushnell has returned with a new kind of story, a web series promoting a different world–successful, mature women living in a recessionary New York City with laid-off husbands. She wrote ‘The Broadroom‘ for More magazine, and the show debut online this week. GalleyCat visited the glamorous release party in this video, mingling with the show’s stars and getting an introduction to the show from Bushnell herself.

According to the post, Burningham has left to support her second book, “Boyology.” She is also launching a boutique public relations and marketing firm called Little Bird Publicity. Wiener worked at Hyperion Books, promoting books with Mitch Albom, Randy Pausch, and Candace Bushnell. She will start in September.
