China Mieville & Paolo Bacigalupi Tie for Best Novel at the Hugo Awards

hugoaward.pngOver the weekend, The City & The City by China Mieville and The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi reached an historic tie for the Best Novel award at the 2010 Hugo Awards.

Neil Gaiman Wins Best Novel Hugo Award

graveyardbookcover.gifYesterday the World Science Fiction Society announced the coveted Hugo Award winners, giving the Best Novel award to Neil Gaiman for “The Graveyard Book.”

The annual prizes have been awarded to science fiction and fantasy writers since 1955. This year, the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer went to David Anthony Durham. View the complete list of winners here. But other celebrated authors included:

Best Novella: “The Erdmann Nexus” by Nancy Kress
Best Novelette: “Shoggoths in Bloom” by Elizabeth Bear (Asimov’s Mar 2008)
Best Short Story: “Exhalation” by Ted Chiang
