The book contains candid photos, road trip stories from the band (pictured, via) and celebrity guest recipes. The list of participants include Food Network star Guy Fieri, rock vocalist Sammy Hagar (of Van Halen fame), retired NFL player Jerome Bettis and award-winning chef Michael Symon.

Award-winning author Andrew Pham hopes to raise $10,000 on Kickstarter for his project titled A Culinary Odyssey: My Cookbook Diary of Travels, Flavors, and Memories of Southeast Asia.

The book contains travel essays, photography, cultural tips and recipes spotlighting the countries of Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia. The funds will be used to cover printing costs, distributing Kickstarter backers’ rewards, finishing elements of the book (photography and layout) and purchasing food and necessary props. Here’s more about the project: “A Culinary Odyssey is only 40 recipes. It is a humble work from the heart, not an ambitious encyclopedic tome filled with dishes most readers will never cook. A New York State Supreme Court justice dismissed claims of plagiarism and defamation leveled against cookbook author Jessica Seinfeld and her comedian husband, Jerry Seinfeld.

The feud began when cookbook author Missy Chase Lapine sued Jessica and her publisher, HarperCollins, for plagiarism. Lapine claimed that Jessica’s cookbook, Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food copied the guide from her title, The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals. Lapine also sued Jerry for defamation after he called her “whacko” during a 2007 appearance on the Late Night show. The video embedded above shows a clip from that interview with David Letterman.

Reuters offers this quote from Seinfeld’s attorneys: “The decision also vindicates HarperCollins and Jessica Seinfeld yet again, confirming what the two different federal courts have already ruled: Jessica independently created her bestselling book Deceptively Delicious.” Lapine’s attorneys intend to review the case for a possible appeal. William Morris Endeavor Entertainment agent Eric Lupfer negotiated the deal with publisher Leslie Stoker.

In the release, Stoker had this comment: “A new Alton Brown book is always a publishing event in the cookbook world, and the release of Good Eats 3 should generate the same kind of enthusiasm and strong sales as his previous books. This final book in the Good Eats series will be a must-have for fans of Brown’s original, highly entertaining cooking show.”
