Deborah Aaronson Joins Phaidon as Vice President, Publisher

phaidonlogo200Deborah Aaronson has been appointed Vice President, Group Publisher at Phaidon Press based in the company’s NYC offices. Aaronson will report to Keith Fox, the newly appointed CEO of Phaidon.

As Group Publisher of Phaidon, Aaronson will be responsible for expanding Phaidon’s Visual Arts, Photography, Interior Design, Fashion, and Children’s publishing programs. She will also oversee design and production. ”I am thrilled that Deb has joined Phaidon,” stated Fox. “Her extensive publishing experience, intelligence and creativity will continue to drive Phaidon’s growth as the preeminent visual arts publisher in the world.”

Aaronson comes to Phaidon from Abrams, where she recently served as Vice President, Publisher for the adult trade group. She spent more than 14 years at the publisher. She has a Master of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Tisch School of the Arts.

Phaidon recently hired Jacky Klein who will join the publisher as Commissioning Editor for Art in June.

40 Days of Dating Creators Land Book Deal

40daysJessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman, two designers who earned two million unique visitors with their dating experiment, have inked a book deal.

Abrams will publish 40 Days of Dating: The Book in fall 2014, looking at two friends who decided to go through the motions of a relationship and share the process online.

The book will include  ”texts, conversations, artwork, photographs, and details of the romance before, during and after the experiment. Creative Artists Agency negotiated the deal with adult trade publisher Deborah Aaronson. Warner Brothers bought the movie rights in September.
