Jenni Rivera’s Posthumous Memoir Coming From Atria

Atria Books will publish a posthumous memoir written by Jenni Rivera, the popular singer who died in a plane crash in December. Publication for Unbreakable is set for July.

Rivera’s manager Pete Salgado negotiated the deal with Johanna Castillo and Jeff Silberman from The Literary Group. Here’s more from the release:

Unbreakable is the book Jenni had been writing for years, and it will provide an intimate look into the heart and soul of this self-made woman, who ascended to the top of the charts against all odds, becoming a legend in a completely male dominated music category … Jenni was also a television star with a hit reality series, and an upcoming comedy series with ABC-TV; an entrepreneur with her own fragrance; but most of all, a devoted mother and grandmother.

Colleen Hoover Lands Deal with Atria Books

After dominating our Self-Published Bestsellers List for weeks, Colleen Hoover has inked a deal for her romance novels Slammed and Point of Retreat with Simon & Schuster’s Atria Books imprint.

According to the release, the publisher won “a heated bidding war” for the series. Dystel & Goderich Literary Management agent Jane Dystel negotiated the deal with Atria senior editor  Johanna Castillo.

Earlier this year, we wrote about how Avett Brothers’ music filled her book and fans of the indie rock band kindled her sales.  In July, Atria scooped up Jamie McGuire‘s self-published bestseller, Beautiful Disaster.
