Scott Rudin, Barry Diller & Luke Janklow May Launch an eBook Venture

The Social Network producer Scott Rudin (pictured) may partner with InterActive Corp. chairman Barry Diller and Janklow & Nesbit Associates literary agent Luke Janklow on a new eBook publishing venture.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trio would focus on “highbrow literary” projects. What do you think?

Here’s more from the article: “Key details about what authors might be involved and how they would be compensated, as well as whether the imprint would issue print versions of books, are not known. In March, Rudin hired John Schoenfelder, the editor of genre imprint Mulholland Books and previously an editor at St. Martin’s Press and Little Brown, to be the director of development for his production company.”

Demi Moore Reportedly Sells Memoir for $2 Million

Actress Demi Moore has sold her memoir to HarperCollins. According to Crain’s NY, the star of Ghost and G.I. Jane sold her book for over $2 million.

Moore is represented by agent Luke Janklow, and she has earned 2.7 million followers on Twitter. To help you speculate about the contents of Moore’s proposal, we collected some writing samples from her Twitter page.

Here’s more from the subscription-only article: “According to several publishing executives, Ms. Moore met only with those houses willing to bid at least $1 million. But to the surprise of some editors who met with her, the book she wants to write is primarily about her own mother, Virginia King, a longtime alcoholic with whom Ms. Moore had a notoriously difficult relationship.”
