Colombia Pictures Acquires ‘Seeker’ by Arwen Elys Dayton
Colombia Pictures acquired the rights to the forthcoming YA novel Seeker, less than two weeks after novelist Arwen Elys Dayton sold her YA trilogy to Delacorte Press.
The new trilogy mixes science fiction and fantasy, about a young girl unwittingly trained as an assassin. Last year, Dayton published with Amazon’s 47North imprint. The Hollywood Reporter had more details:
Mark Gordon, the producer whose credits include “Speed,” “Saving Private Ryan” and “Source Code,” will produce the adaptation… The movie deal comes on the heels of the publishing deal, which went down last week. Delacorte picked up the rights in a competitive environment, sealing it up for high six-figures.
