Some of the illustrious contributors to The 39 Clue main series include Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan, bestselling thriller novelist David Baldacci and Newbery Award-winner Linda Sue Park.

Here’s more from the release: “In addition to all-new information about the powerful Cahill family, The 39 Clues: Rapid Fire eBook short stories will each contain pieces of a code that when combined will unlock an exclusive virtual card and online content on The 39 Clues game site (www.the39clues.com). There are currently more than 11 million copies in print worldwide for the interactive adventure series, which combines books, collectible cards, and an online game where kids age 8-12 become a part of the story.”

True Blood Novelist Helps Create Vampire Video Game

Vampire novelist Charlaine Harris (her novels inspired HBO’s True Blood series) has partnered up with I-play Entertainment to create “Dying for Daylight,” a PC video game. This project stars Dahlia, a character described as “a vampire with a devastating sense of fashion and a razor-sharp wit.”

Players journey through New Orleans, Memphis, and Charleston Harbor searching for a magical tonic that allows vampires to endure open sunlight. Dahlia gathers clues, solves puzzles, and meets interesting characters along the way.

The press release offers this quote from Harris: “As an author, I have spent my life focusing on the power of words. I can honestly say that this collaboration with I-play has been eye-opening, showing the unique way stories can be told and characters brought to life in games.”

Roald Dahl’s ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ Adapted for Stage

Five stories from Roald Dahl‘s Tales of the Unexpected have been adapted for the stage in the UK. On January 14th, Roald Dahl’s Twisted Tales opened for previews on the West End.

Jeremy Dyson wrote the script and Polly Findlay directed the play. The production website should be 14 or older since it is based on short stories with adult material.

Dahl first published the collection in 1979. The sixteen stories inspired a television series that lasted for nine seasons. The video embedded above features the show’s theme song.
