Do you agree with the way director Marc Webb and his screenwriting team ended The Amazing Spider-Man? For those who feel dissatisfied, the “How It Should Have Ended” (HISHE) YouTube web series has just released its latest animated spoof, How the Amazing Spider-Man Should’ve Ended.

We’ve embedded the entire spoof video above–what do you think? HISHE co-creators Daniel Baxter and Tina Alexander drew ideas from the 16,000 fan comments they received concerning this project. Perhaps the filmmakers behind The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will consult this video for the sequel.

Here’s more from the release: “The video features a special guest appearance by Stan Lee, the former publisher of Marvel Comics and co-creator of Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man and most recently the star of his very own YouTube channel, Stan Lee’s World of Heroes…’How The Amazing Spider-Man Should Have Ended’ launches at a time of accelerating growth for the HISHE franchise. The HISHE YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/HISHEdotcom, recently surpassed one million subscribers, putting them in the prestigious ‘Top 100 Most Subscribed’ of YouTube’s millions of channels.”

Disney Publishes Marvel Superhero Picture Books

At New York Comic Con, Disney Publishing hosted a panel featuring writer Rich Thomas, artist Val Semeiks, and artist Craig Rousseau. The panel explored a line of picture book titles starring Marvel comic book heroes (Disney acquired the company in 2009 in a $4 billion deal).

First, the panelists showcased the Origin Stories picture book series starring Spider-Man, The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Professor X. The Hulk’s title will be released in November; the other five are already available. In continuation of this line, two books spotlighting The Mighty Avengers will be published in April 2012.

The first part will show how the heroes banded together. Part Two will discuss how Captain America joined the team. The publisher is also currently working on a project about the X-Men’s Wolverine. Future Origins Stories titles could star some villains and female heroes.

Stan Lee, Yoshiki, & Todd McFarlane to Unveil ‘Blood Red Dragon’ Comic at Comic-Con 2011

The first issue of the comic book series Blood Red Dragon will be unveiled at Comic-Con International on Thursday, July 21st. This project features the collaborative efforts of Spider-Man comics creator Stan Lee, Japanese rock star Yoshiki (of the band X Japan), and Spawn comics creator Todd McFarlane.

GalleyCat reported back in October 201o when Lee and Yoshiki personally announced this project at New York Comic Con. Lee explained that the project would be a “motion comic,” which he described as “more than a comic, but less than an animated film. It’s somewhere in between.” The series is being published by Todd McFarlane Productions.

Here’s more from the release: “[The comic] focuses on the origin of an ancient and benevolent force, locked in an epic battle with the dark armies of Oblivion. Creative expression and destiny collide, as once in a generation an individual is born with the potential to unlock the awesome might of the Blood Red Dragon, thus channeling a power beyond comprehension and assuming the mantle of Earth’s protector.”
