Taylor Lautner to Star in Incarceron Adaptation

Incarceron (Incarceron, Book 1)Twilight Saga star Taylor Lautner will act in (and probably produce) a film adaptation of the young-adult book, Incarceron. The first book in UK author Catherine Fisher’s fantasy series has been optioned by Fox 2000.

Deadline reports: “Lautner will play Finn, who has lived his entire life on Incarceron, a savage, futuristic prison society. He meets the daughter of the warden, who is trapped in her own prison, a futuristic world constructed beautifully to look like the 17th Century.”

Fisher has published several series, stand-alone novels, and poetry. The Incarceron series currently has two books: Incarceron (published in February 2010) and Sapphique (to be published December 28, 2010). Penguin’s Dial imprint has brought the both titles to the United States.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The original version of this post misstated the U.S. publisher of the books.
