Paulo Coelho‘s beloved book, The Alchemist, will be released as a graphic novel next week. Derek Ruiz wrote the adaptation and Daniel Sempere drew the artwork.

Coelho commented: “It was an old dream of mine to have The Alchemist as a graphic novel. This version exceeds my expectations and is a beautiful manifestation of what I originally imagined while crafting this story.”

Coelho first published The Alchemist in his native Brazil.  HarperCollins brought the book to the English-language market in 1993. Since then, it has sold more than 40 million copies. (Via Jacket Copy)
