The First Bernard Madoff Book Deals Arrive
It’s been less than a week since stock wizard Bernard Madoff was arrested, but both Random House and HarperCollins have already signed book deals about his alleged multi-billion dollar fraud.
Both books are slated for a 2010 release. At HarperCollins, journalist Andrew Kirtzman (who has appeared on WCBS and NY1 in New York) landed a deal for an “investigative work” about the scandal. At Random House, journalist Richard Behar (who has written for Time and Fortune) will write the Madoff book.
The Bookseller has the news, including more details on the Random House deal: “Susan Mercandetti, executive editor of Random House, acquired world English, first serial and audio rights from Richard Abate of The Endeavor Agency.”
