“The Heartbreakers” Go to Hollywood

24277170.JPGUnited Artists will adapt Pamela Wells‘ popular book, “The Heartbreakers,” renaming the film project “Rules of Dating for Teenage Girls.”

Published in 2007, the YA title follows the dating adventures of four teenage girls. Wells has also written a second follow-up novel, “Crushes.”

According to Hollywood Reporter, producers are paying close attention to YA books right now: “Projects aimed at tween and young teen girls are in vogue in the wake of the massive success of properties like “Twilight” and the success this past weekend of “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” Bookseller stats, for instance, show overlap between “Twilight” and “Heartbreakers” consumers.”
