The Return of Writers Too Cute for Words
Would you believe that we’re still getting emails about that call for “attractive” writers a few weeks ago? It’s true! Early on, Forward columnist Marjorie Ingall recommended Lily Burana, whose debut novel, Try, comes out this summer (full disclosure: I know them both!). And just yesterday, somebody notified us about Joyce Carol Oates protégé Nathan Sellyn and his short story collection Indigenous Beasts.

Burana, Sellyn, Goldman, and Vanderbes
We didn’t actually hear about Dan Goldman in the hottie literati context—he just wanted us to know about his new online graphic novel, Shooting War. But who can resist that forelock, or those violet ruffles, right, ladies? We also got a note about Jennifer Vanderbes, the author of Easter Island…who, like previous “too cute for words” nominee Emily Barton, just received a Guggenheim fellowship.
And on that note, I think we might actually give this meme a rest for a while…but wait until you see what we’ve got lined up for the summer!
