The Rona Jaffe Foundation Unveils 2011 Writers’ Award Winners
The Rona Jaffe Foundation has announced the 2011 Writers’ Award winners. Each winner will receive a $25,000 prize.
The six winning writers include Melanie Drane (poetry), Apricot Irving (nonfiction), Fowzia Karimi (fiction), Namwali Serpell (fiction), Merritt Tierce (fiction) and JoAnn Wypijewski (nonfiction).
The award ceremony will take place on September 22nd in New York City. Acclaimed short story writer Edith Pearlman will serve as the evening’s special guest speaker. Past recipients of this award includes Laura Newbern (poetry), Lan Samantha Chang (fiction) and Rachel Aviv (nonfiction).
